This show asks the age-old question: “How long can a show title be before the Festival producers get in touch to complain?” The answer is apparently longer than Clash Battle Warlords Age of Candy Robots Royal Strike Kingdom Mobile Legends Saga!

Conceived as part of our 2017 experiment to lean into a more dedicated gaming audience – a strategy we would slowly abandon the following year. However it is responsible for a number of enduring legacies, including the first time we created fake brand parodies that would populate future productions. It also marked the first time we received the compliment from an audience member that “the screen felt like a third character on stage”. Feedback like this highlights that this was the first time the full creative team was working on a new show from scratch allowing the screen to be fully integrated during script writing, rather than afterwards.

And finally, it was our first show nominated for an award, as we were named as one of 2017’s prestigious Golden Gibbo nominees at Melbourne International Comedy Festival. I still remember sitting in Hairy Little Sista and seeing the official Festival social post and being so shocked, thrilled and absolutely blown away.
